CLQ 3360 C26/CM: Environmental Crisis Thru Film

This course examines the representation in media of the dual crises of climate change and fossil fuel depletion through the study of recent documentary films, television programs and online media concerning these topics, supplemented by research into the production and influence of these films. Documentary films about these topics include Blood and Oil, An Inconvenient Truth, The End of Suburbia, A Crude Awakening, The Economics of Happiness, Megadisasters - Oil Apocalypse, The Power of Community, Collapse, and The Future of Food. Corequisite: CLQ 3361.
