CLQ 3050 HO/HI:London: Outpost to Metropolis

This course looks at the history, geography, literature, and society of the London, from the Roman conquest to the new millennium. It stresses the social, economic, political, and religious struggles within the city and with outsiders. It deals with witchcraft, civil and world wars, gender roles, empire, women’s suffrage, social classes, and industrialization.
