CLQ 3160 C6/RL:Evol. of Compassionate Communities
This course enables students to explore various religious traditions that endorse the communitarian ideal of compassionate concern for others combined with an off-campus community engagement project. By employing a service-learning pedagogy and working alongside experienced Marin County community activists, students trace the religious history of compassionate concern for community through three great epochs of human history, the Neolithic Era, the Agrarian Era and the Industrial Era. This course should have special appeal to students seeking work in the fields of nursing, occupational therapy or social work. Co-requisite
