CLQ 3151 C5/MU:Music as Inspired by Art & History
This course takes its impetus directly from the historical subject studied in the course, Art as Inspired by Music and History. As each historical event is defined, the students will listen to music written by the composers of that time and place. Every time they listen to a musical example, it is an occasion to introduce the student to information about the composer, the musical style of the period, sound-relationships within the music, how the music is put together, and the meaning of certain musical terms that are often used in describing the practice of the composer in that instance.
