CLQ 3171 C7/HS:Global Health Perspective Eur/Swed
In this course, students will deepen their knowledge and appreciation of wellness-focused health care delivery systems such as those found in national health care in Europe, and will contrast those systems with the illness-focused health care of the United States. Structured readings, assignments, discussions, and health care experiences in either Sweden or an optional site in the U.S. are components of the course. The emphasis will be on understanding the historical, philosophical, and moral rationale for the modern European and American health care systems, comparing and contrasting the two systems, and examining the health outcomes of each system.
