Jerusalem today is a vibrant, flourishing city, the capital of an independent nation, and the vital center of worship for three world religions. It is also one of the most ancient continuously settled cities on this globe, a bone of contention in the struggle between Israelis and Palestinians, and a point of public interest and emotion frequently invoked in international media. This course covers many facets of the legendary city's life from the days of the Canaanites to the present by looking at its art, architecture, geography, history, culture, events, personalities, and politics.
