CLQ 3030 HO/AH:Medieval Art Romanesque Gothic

This course explores society and culture in the Middle Ages with special reference to their influence on modern society and culture. Topics include: feudal society and chivalry, the rise of towns, the development of universities, roles of women, church and state controversy, and the encounters of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish civilizations. Corequisite: CLQ 3031.
