OCC 20700 Leadership and Professional Practice

This course is to be taken in the last semester of Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum courses when all occupational therapy courses are close to completed and occupational therapy fieldwork is about to begin. It will be taught as a synthesis of occupational therapy theory and principles. It will include: management, supervision, leadership, team building, ethics, standards of practice, budget, finance, quality assurance, clinical reasoning and documentation. Students are required to complete 20 hours of non-traditional fieldwork/service learning. Other professional activities outside of class time are also required.
