OCC 10300 Occupational Therapy Skills
Students demonstrate the techniques used to measure and document range of motion and muscle testing of the upper extremity; with emphasis on the structure and function of the skeletal, musculature and neuromotor systems. Students analyze movement and the impact injury or disability has on participation in tasks. They begin the application of critical thinking and problem solving while guided through screening and evaluation tools employed by occupational therapy practitioners. Laboratory sessions allow students to demonstrate their competencies in performing upper extremity assessments and understand the need for orthotic and prosthetic devices and physical modalities.
