OMED 8460 Pediatric Critical Care Elective Clerkship
This four-week elective clerkship is designed to provide experiential learning in the field of pediatric critical care. To accomplish this, students will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team caring for children requiring pediatric intensive care services. Students will become familiar with pediatric advanced life support, airway control, mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic and electrolyte monitoring, nutritional support, pharmacology, and varied technical procedures. The student will also gain experience in communicating with parents of critically ill children.
