OMED 8451 Intermediate Medical Spanish for Osteopathic Medical Students Elective Clerkship
This four-week experience is conducted in Spanish and prepares students to communicate effectively with patients and their families who have limited English proficiency. Students engage in clinical care with a focus on communicating in Spanish to patients and their families about necessary tests required, medication management, the results of a diagnostic test, as well as treatment and prognosis. Also, this elective provides practice in writing and speaking Spanish in the context of a medical visit.
