FYS 1112 NATURE AND CAPITALISM

This course unpacks and explores the connections between nature and capitalism. It investigates the answers to the following types of questions: how does capitalism work? What kinds of consequences – both social and environmental – does a capitalist system create in its quest for growth? Who reaps the benefits of a capitalist system and who suffers the consequences of it? And can capitalism be “greened”? This course considers these topics from the lens of Sociology.
