FYS 1111 MANDALA
A mandala is many things: a meditation/healing aid, sacred circle of Buddhist pantheon, temple of heaven, cosmogram, and gate to enlightenment. This course explores its meanings across Eastern and Western cultures, past and present. Using a multidisciplinary approach—art and architectural history, religion, literature, psychoanalysis—students will develop research, visual, and spatial analysis skills.
