PEHP 1161 Scuba Diving

This is the entry-level course in the principles and skills of scuba diving, combining eLearning lectures, in-class lectures, and confined water training in a pool. The objective of this course is to provide the novice with the required knowledge and skills to participate safely in open water scuba activities without direct leadership supervision, provided the environmental conditions approximate those in which they were trained. The purpose of the course is to prepare for certification as a scuba diver, and all participants are expected to meet the standards and criteria necessary to begin Open Water training through any internationally recognized scuba certification agency, including but not limited to NAUI, SSI, and PADI.
