SLP 522 Acquired & Progressive Aphasia

Students examine acquired and progressive aphasia through linguistic, cognitive, and neurogenic perspectives. The course emphasizes culturally responsive assessment, discourse-based analysis, and evidence-based intervention across diverse populations. Students explore interprofessional care, psychosocial considerations, and advocacy, developing the clinical reasoning skills needed to support individuals with aphasia and their communication partners.
