Education Minor

The Education Minor supplements a major in a teaching field discipline, preparing students for Texas teacher certification in secondary (7-12) and all level (EC-12) fields. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in their discipline complete the education requirements as a dual major. Only students with a discipline major yielding a different degree (such as a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Music) may complete certification requirements with the Education Minor. The requirements of the Education Minor are the same as the requirements for the Education Major (Secondary and All Level) as both prepare students for Texas certification requirements. Education Minors may also choose to add optional minors in special education and/or literacy.
