Leave of Absence

A student with appropriate documentation (medical, financial, personal) may apply for a Leave of Absence (LOA) from the University without penalty. Students in this position must meet with the registrar to initiate the process.

Important:

  • A leave of absence cannot exceed 180 days.
  • Prior to returning to the University, a student must meet with the registrar to process a Returning Student Application form and to initiate appropriate registration processes.
  • Rather than graduating under the requirements in effect at the time of their acceptance as a degree-seeking student, students leaving the University for more than two quarters must be readmitted and must graduate under the requirements in effect at the time of readmission.
