Financial Aid Grievances

Financial Aid/Account Balance Grievances

Any student with a grievance or concern about their financial aid and/or account balance should first raise their concerns, in writing, to a student services staff member.  If the student services staff member is unable to resolve the student’s concerns, then the student may submit the concerns to the Campus Director (Global students please submit concerns to the Regional Director).  When forwarding concerns to the Campus Director or Regional Director students should include supporting documentation and any response received from the student services staff member.  

If the Campus Director or Regional Director does not resolve the student’s concerns, or if the student does not receive a written response within five (5) business days from the Campus Director or Regional Director addressing the substance of the grievance, then the student may contact the Office of Student Affairs at financialdispute@strayer.edu.  The student should provide a specific description of the grievance and the initial redress sought. The student must present their concerns in writing with supporting documentation including any response received from the Campus Director or the Regional Director.    

If the Office of Student Affairs is unable to resolve the student’s concerns, or if the student does not receive a written response within five (5) business days from the Office of Student Affairs addressing the substance of the grievance, then the student may escalate their grievance to the Office of the President at presidentoffice@strayer.edu.  The student should provide a specific description of their concerns and the initial redress sought. The student must present the grievance in writing with supporting documentation including any response received from the Campus Director, Regional Director and the Office of Student Affairs.  

The Office of the President shall provide the student with a response within five (5) business days after receipt of the grievance from the student.  The decision of the Office of the President is the University’s final response.

If the student’s grievance is not resolved to the student’s satisfaction, then the student may contact the University’s accrediting agency, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, 267-284-5000), or the student’s applicable state agency.
