Program Description:
This dynamic liberal arts program will provide students with an effective and rigorous communication studies degree. Courses in this discipline provide students with a theoretical and practical understanding of the complexity and diversity of social values and view points regarding communication. Communication Studies enhances students' understanding and application of communication skills used in professions, organizations, and industry.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Construct and deliver effective messages that are appropriate to the audience, purpose and context
- Develop knowledge and skills that apply to a variety of real-world settings such as personal, social, and professional
- Understand the role that communication plays in relationship to culture and identity
- Apply theories of communication to settings such as one-on-one, group, public, and mediated environments
