EDUC5021 Social Context of Urban and Rural Schools

This course enhances knowledge of the fundamental challenges and opportunities found in schools and school culture in urban and rural settings.  A comparative exploration of the social, political and economic factors that shape these communities, schools and classrooms will be conducted. Special emphasis is placed on effective instructional and organizational practices that address challenges and capitalize on opportunities found in both types of school settings.
