Botany Minor
Botany Minor Requirements
Required Courses in the minor:
At least 2 or more of the following
Healing through Horticulture (course number TBA)
Botany Systematics and Taxonomy (course number TBA)
One of the following or an additional botany elective
Introduction to Conservation Biology (course number TBA)
Environmental Science (course number TBA)
Environmental Ecology (course number TBA)
Tropical Rain Forest Ecology (course number TBA)
Tropical Ecology of Barbuda (course number TBA)
BIO 1001, BIO 1002: completed with a minimum grade of C (or evidence of high achievement in equivalent course work) are prerequisites for all biology courses above the 2000 level. If a C - or below is received in either class, it must be retaken and passed with a minimum grade of C before students can progress to the 3000-level electives.
CHM 1001, CHM 1003: completed with a minimum grade of C- are prerequisites for all biology courses above the 2000 level.
Prospective biology minors interested in enrolling in Principles of Biology I or II also need to complete the Biology Placement Exam, which is an online exam located on Blackboard at http://blackboard9.mville.edu.
