Suspension

Students on Warning academic status who fail to meet the minimum 2.00 overall grade point average in the next enrollment period, will be placed on Suspension. Students on suspension academic status are not allowed to enroll for the next Fall or Spring term. However, students my request special permission to enroll by submitting a petition to the Academic Appeals Committee.

Students enrolled in developmental courses (including English as a Second Language) are not subject to the Suspension academic status.

A student who withdraws from all courses for the semester or summer session will return to the previous academic status as indicated in the prior enrolled semester or session.

Students on suspension from another college or university may also petition the Academic Appeals Committee for permission to enroll and are expected to follow the same guidelines as required for Laredo Community College students. Transfer students who are on suspension from another college or university are advised to contact their previous college or university to verify their enrollment status as a result of attending Laredo Community College. Some colleges and universities penalize those students who are on suspension and attend college elsewhere.
