CLQ 3031 HO/HI: Medieval Europe
This course covers the arts produced by diverse cultural groups in Western Europe from the fall of the Roman Empire through the late Gothic period (approximately 400-1400 CE). The distinctive features of Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, Carolingian and Ottonian art will be covered as well as the influence of Jewish and Islamic art and cultures represented in the formation of the Romanesque and Gothic styles of the eleventh through fourteenth centuries.
