Program Description
The certificate programs are designed for individuals who are seeking a career in natural resources and possess a degree or are seeking job-entry level skills. This certificate program introduces students to the history, legislation, principles, and goals of environmental literacy and education.

First Semester
Courses should be completed in the order listed below. If you are unable to complete the entire semester list, complete as many courses in this sequence as your schedule allows.

Faculty Recommendations:
1. Environmental Education (NRE 225). Offered only in Spring.
2. Foundations of Forestry (NRE 100) or Wildlife & Fisheries Management Principles (NRE 205).
3. One NRE Elective*. Credits vary from 1 to 6.
*Select 3 credits of electives that satisfy any of the AAS degree requirements in Natural Resources, Forestry or Wildlife. This includes 3 credits of Internship (NRE 280) and Independent Study (NRE 285) courses.
Total number of credits may vary depending on which elective options are chosen.
