EDUC 2380 Introduction to Intercultural Communication
This course provides an introduction to the field of intercultural communication, enhances the development of intercultural competence (in the participants and indirectly in their students), and explores implications and applications for the teaching and learning of ESL. The course examines theoretical perspectives of language, cultural, and worldview; communicative competence, intercultural contact; issues of diversity and commonalities among human beings; implications and applications for the classroom situation and oneself as a language teacher.
