This program will provide students with a foundation in database design, management, and data analysis. Data security measures, data back-up and recovery will be emphasized. Employment opportunities include entry-level database administration and support, SQL database programming, data analysis, and data protection and recovery support.

After completing the degree, students are prepared to take the “Oracle Database 12c: Install and Admin (1Z0-062)” Oracle certification exam.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively using both verbal and written methods.
  • Import, export, and transform data from various sources and analyze it dynamically using tools like PivotTables, PivotCharts, and database functions.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize schemas, tables, views, and indexes using SQL data modification language (DML) and data definition language (DDL).
  • Apply various cryptographic technologies, including advanced authentication and encryption, to secure databases and protect data transmissions in computer networks from attacks.
  • Understand the ethics of data queries, methods of obtaining data, the designated visualization of data, and the communication of the data analysis results.
  • Administer database systems by managing permissions, roles, and server groups, and implementing robust backup and disaster recovery strategies.
