Credit Programs of Study

North Shore Community College offers three types of credit programs: transfer degree; career degree; and career certificate.

Transfer degree programs are designed to prepare students for upper-division study at four-year colleges and universities. Career degree programs enable students to begin a career after graduation in a technical, supporting, or professional occupation.

Career degree programs also include general education courses and may be used to transfer to a four-year college or university.

Career certificate programs are one-year programs that provide students with the basic skills needed for quick entry into the job market. These programs are offered through the divisions of Health Professions, Human Services, Liberal Studies, and STEM & Business.

Some programs of study can be completed entirely online or in a blended option. A blended program means that some of the program’s courses can be taken online, giving the student some flexibility in scheduling. Detailed information can be found at www.northshore.edu/elearning.

In order to graduate, students must demonstrate proficiency in communications and mathematics and meet all program requirements.
