Global and International Studies, Bachelor of Arts

Major Requirements

The Global and International Studies major consists of two required courses and nine electives from the following three areas:

  • International Politics and Economics
  • Global Justice and Development
  • Global Cultures

One of these nine electives must be a Junior Seminar. The Junior Seminar introduces students to research methods and requires them to write an evidence-based paper of at least 10 pages in length.

Students cannot use a single course to count towards more than one of the three areas.

Students may take only one elective course at the 1000-level.

Students must take two courses in the same language up to the Intermediate II level.
