Environmental Science
Introduction & Overview
The major in Environmental Science focuses on understanding ways in which humans interact with the natural world. Human behavioral, cultural, and sociological interactions that affect the environment and the means by which policies, regulations, and decisions influence human actions are a major focus of the major. The major seeks to provide a solid foundation in this discipline with courses such as Foundations of Ecology, Environmental Geology, Statistics, Genetics, Plant Biology, Molecular Biology, and Evolutionary Biology.
With several updated teaching laboratories on campus, and a robust research program, students a gain valuable practical experience in addition to classroom time. There are also a variety of different internship opportunities, community service, and Honor Society events that may be explored.
