Legal Studies

Introduction & Overview

The Legal Studies major at Manhattanville provides students with a deep understanding of the philosophical and historical roots of the contemporary American legal system.  Students build career-based skills, including reading and interpreting statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, and case law. Student also learn to craft legal briefs, and to make persuasive and effective written arguments. In-class oral arguments and mock trial exercises give students the chance to practice their skills as advocates and judges.
