Graduate School of Education: Alumni and Graduate Scholarships

Scholarships

Students must be accepted as a matriculated student in a graduate program and registered for graduate coursework through the School of Education to be eligible for scholarships.  The following Advanced Certificate programs are not eligible for academic scholarships:

  • Science of Reading: Multisensory Instruction
  • Social-Emotional Learning and Whole Child Education
     

Academic scholarships may not be combined with any other institutionally funded scholarships or discounts.

Alumni Scholarship

For students who graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Manhattanville with a 3.0-4.0 GPA and are not eligible for the Fast Start Discount. Students are awarded $1,000 during each semester in which they are enrolled in six (6) or more credit hours.

Advance Scholarship

Manhattanville alumni who had a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.6 or above, pursue full-time graduate study immediately after graduation, and are accepted into the Fast Start program may be eligible for a one-time $1,000 award during their first semester.  To learn more and apply visit the School of Education website.

Merit Scholarships

Merit scholarships are offered as one-time first semester awards.  Amounts may differ depending on the number of credit hours enrolled.

  • Board of Trustees Scholarship – Undergraduate GPA of 3.7 or above
  • President’s Scholarship – Undergraduate GPA of 3.5-3.69
  • Merit Award – Undergraduate GPA of 3.2-3.49

Diversity Scholarship

Scholarships will be awarded each year to teacher candidates from historically underrepresented groups who are newly entering a master's degree program in education.  Up to ten scholarships may be awarded each year. A one-third (1/3rd) tuition discount will be awarded for all courses in a master’s degree program. Mary K. Humphrey Endowed Scholarship in Special Education

The Mary K. Humphreys Endowed Scholarship in Special Education is an award in memory of Mary K. Humphreys who dedicated her life to the education of children with special needs. She received an undergraduate degree in education and a master's degree in special education from Manhattanville College. To honor her memory, the friends and family of Mary K. Humphreys have established this scholarship for Special Education at Manhattanville College.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a passion for and sensitivity to the needs of children with special needs. This candidate should personify the ideals, compassion, and work ethic of Mary K. Humphreys.
