American Studies Major Requirements

The major in American Studies requires successful completion of a total of ten 3-credit courses plus a faculty-supervised Senior Evaluation capstone project (3 credits), for a total of 33 credits.

The American Studies major must include:

AMS 2021	American Places I: Cities on a Hill	3 credits
AMS 2022	American Places II: Frontier Nation	3 credits
	One American Studies Seminar (AMS- approved 3000-level course)	3 credits
	Seven additional 3-credit elective courses (see list below).	21 credits
AMS 3998	Senior Evaluation Capstone Project	3 credits

A grade of C- or better is required for a course to be counted toward the major or minor in American Studies.
