Enrollment Requirements for International Students

Full-time Enrollment. International students who have been granted approval for admission to the College are required to enroll for full-time status. Full-time status implies enrollment as a full time student (12 semester credit hours should be face to face classes, not online). International students that qualify for full-time enrollment require one or more of the following:

  • Official transcript reflecting graduation from high school.
  • Official transcripts reflecting the completion of at least 15 semester credit hours, exclusive of English as a Second Languages courses and developmental courses with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale from a college or university accredited by a United States Regional Accrediting Association.
  • We also recommend that you schedule your TOEFL exam during the application process. Visit the TOEFL test website to schedule the test in your home country at www.ets.org/toefl. Passing scores are 500 for the written test and 61 for the internet based test.
  • Assessment will be required to enroll by taking the TSI Assessment, ACT, or SAT. The scores earned in these tests will determine course placement.

Enrollment as a full-time student is a requirement, failure to remain enrolled as a full-time student will cause a student to be out of compliance. Subsequent permission to re-enroll may be denied. Students must remain in good academic standing to be eligible to re-enroll. International Students may take on-line courses only if it is in addition to their 12 hour full-time requirement.

Part-time Enrollment. Mexican and Canadian Nationals (Border Commuters) who reside outside the United States, and regularly commute across a land border to study, may enroll on a part-time basis (11 semester credit hours or less) under the student visa category.
