General Policy

Laredo Community College has an "open door" admissions policy, which ensures that all persons who can profit from post-secondary education have an opportunity to enroll in courses. However, admissions to the college do not imply admissions to all the programs of the college. Some programs have certain additional requirements for admissions into their specific programs.

Students who wish to register at Laredo Community College must first be admitted. Application forms may be obtained from the Office of Admissions & Registrar's and on-line at www.applytexas.org. Student's must have a permanent identification number, usually their social security number. Those students that are ineligible to obtain a social security number from the Social Security Administration office will have a college identification number issued to them at the time of admissions. This college obtained id number is to be used while a person is a student at Laredo Community College.

The State of Texas has adopted Senate Bill 1107, which requires all-first time in college students, 21 and under, who wish to enroll in a public or private college or university to show proof that they have been immunized against bacterial meningitis. Beginning with the Spring 2012 semester, all students enrolling for the first time at Laredo Community College must show proof that they have been vaccinated at least 10 days prior to the first class day or seek an exemption at https://corequestjc.dshs.texas.gov/ and submit to the Office of Admissions & Registrar's.

All new students 21 years of age and younger must attend our New Student Orientation Program in order to register before their first semester. Orientation is FREE of charge and ALL new incoming students 21 years and younger must attend this orientation session in order to be advised and register for classes. Student must be a Graduating Senior or Graduating Junior in order to register for these Orientations.
