MATH 110 Statistics for Healthcare
Will you be making choices regarding patient care? Chances are high these choices are based on evidence-based practice, or data! Researchers compile data obtained through research or designed experiments to determine best practices for everything from medication levels to infection prevention protocol. It is critical that the healthcare professional applying the results to patient care understands these studies.
In this course, you will find out how to analyze graphs and statistical measures to ensure you can rightly interpret the studies, findings, and polls you encounter in everyday life as well as how they relate to the healthcare field. You will learn about probabilities and distributions; measures of central tendency, variation, and position; sample data and confidence intervals; and the process of hypothesis testing. By the end of the course, you will be prepared to evaluate statistics for accuracy and truthfulness so you can form opinions and make decisions based on authentic data points.
