CIST 105 Introduction to Computer Applications

Love them or hate them, computers are an essential part of nearly every business, and productivity software such as the Microsoft suite is part of the daily life of professionals everywhere. Whether you’re new to the business world or looking for a crash course in essential computer software, this course is for you.

In this course, you’ll get the basic vocabulary and skills you need to use in-demand software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, and databases. You’ll learn how to create beautiful customized Microsoft Word documents; spreadsheets, formulas, charts, graphs, and tables in Excel; dynamic presentations using PowerPoint; and powerful databases, custom forms, and custom reports in Access. By the end of the course, you’ll know the fundamentals of these applications and how to use them to communicate effectively in a business environment.
