PS4112 Creating Wellness

This course explores wellness comprehensively, including study of its physical, mental, emotional, behavioral, social and spiritual dimensions. We address the shifting paradigm of medical models from technocratic to biopsychosocial to holistic and look at how this shift is affecting traditional areas of study. The focus of this course is on biological-psychological interactions and the mind/body connection — how we stay healthy, how we become resilient and how we create wellbeing. The emerging field of positive psychology is also discussed.
