NUR 22400 Maternal Child Health

The Nursing Process is applied to care for childbearing and pediatric patients. Normal physiological, psychological and social changes are considered, as well as complications related to deviations from the norm utilizing elements of the 7 Basic Human Needs. Clinical experiences are provided in both the maternity and pediatric settings in the community and in the Nursing Skills/Simulation Laboratory.

Prerequisite

NUR 14400 (with a grade of 'C+' or higher); NUR 14600 (with a grade of 'C+' or higher); ENG 10200, SPE 10100, and BIO 11100 (with a grade of C or higher)

Corequisite

PSY 20300 (if the student has completed prior to NUR 22400 they must achieve a grade of C or higher)
