Addendum - Test-Optional Admission
[Addendum to Catalog 2020–2021: Admissions: new subsection: Test-Optional Admission. Published 2020.10.30.]
This Addendum is for First Time Freshman and Transfer students with less than 24 credits entering Presentation College in Summer 2020, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. This addendum is intended to be temporary in duration and has been developed to address applicants that have been impacted by the national testing site closures related to COVID-19.
- All students will be admitted using the standard admission requirements of 2.00 GPA and 18 ACT/970 SAT, in accordance with the College Catalog.
- If a student does not have ACT or SAT exam scores due to COVID-19-related issues, the student may be admitted using the following alternative criteria:
- A student having a high school cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of a 4.00 or higher may be admitted to the college.
- The high school transcript will be reviewed by a qualified faculty member for placement in math and English.
- An ACCUPLACER exam may be required following the outcome of this evaluation.
- The Admissions Appeal Committee (AAC) will review the high school transcripts for students with a cumulative GPA of 2.00-2.99.
- If the student’s transcript sufficiently demonstrates preparation for college level coursework, the AAC will make the determination to accept the student to Presentation College.
- If the student’s transcript does not sufficiently demonstrate preparation for college coursework, the Committee may do one of the following:
- Make the determination to accept the student under the Probational Acceptance guidelines, in accordance with the College Catalog.
- Make the determination that the student follow the standard admissions appeal process, submitting applicable documentation to AAC, in accordance with the College Catalog.
- Students with a cumulative GPA below 2.00 may file an appeal to the AAC per the College Catalog.
