IDS136 Martin and Malcolm: Advocates for Human Rights
This course seeks to critically examine the social context, the philosophical, and ideological framework of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Through biographical and historical analysis, students will develop a greater appreciation of the two historical figures. In addition, we will critically evaluate and relate the methods of each to contemporary U.S.A. and Third World racial social, political and economic problems. Fulfills open, liberal arts, social science, and history electives.
