IDS102E Science in the Popular Novel

This course explores and analyzes the relationship between science and pop culture through the lens of fiction and popular media. Writing style, historical significance and the popularity of various genres, including novels, short stories, popular magazines and newspapers will be examined. Science contained in the readings will be investigated, keeping in mind the unique history, people, objects, social contructs and experience shaping them. Fulfilss interdisciplinary and liberal arts electives.
