Advising Notes

  • This certificate is designed to provide the education needed to prepare students to be a licensed alcohol and drug counselor and for entry level employment in the substance abuse field.

  • For students interested in continuing their education in the substance abuse field, courses in this certificate count towards Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Degree.
  • If you intend to graduate with this certificate in one year, you should enroll in at least 15 credits if taking only fall/spring courses.
  • Taking classes in the winter intersession and summer can accelerate your time  to degree completion.
  • Many courses have prerequisite requirements that must be fulfilled to be eligible to enroll in the course.
  • All student degree audits for graduation purposes will be based off the official program of study the student is enrolled in.
