NRS 2200 ASSESSMENT OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS FOR NURSING PRACTICE

This course will introduce the essential elements of nursing education including evidence-based nursing care, nursing assessments and nursing interventions to promote health and wellness for adults. Through classroom and clinical experiences, students will learn head to toe and focused assessment of the adult client.

  1. 1. Complete head to toe and focused assessments of the adult client.
  2. 2. Identify basic needs of adult clients via assessment and apply components of the nursing process to
    develop a plan of care to meet those needs.
  3. 3. Identify and incorporate safety and infection control procedures to maintain health and protect clients and the healthcare personnel.
  4. 4. Demonstrate satisfactory completion of clinical skills per the NRS 220 Clinical Evaluation Tool.
  5. 5. Communicate effectively with individuals, support persons and members of the interdisciplinary team.
  6. 6. Incorporate informatics to formulate evidenced-based clinical judgements and decisions.
  7. 7. Practice professional nursing behaviors incorporating personal responsibility and accountability for
    continued competence.
