PSY 3066 Psychology of Fantasy Football

This class will examine the psychology behind the world’s most popular fantasy sports game—fantasy football, which has roughly 60 million active participants worldwide. Topics covered include people’s motivation to play fantasy football, cognitive biases that affect decision-making (e.g., which players to draft or play), and research-based strategies to help players avoid psychological pitfalls. Instruction will include lectures, readings, discussions, and activities. Students will be required to create and manage a fantasy football team during the semester.
