POLS 4340 Democracy

This course provides an introduction to the basic types of modern democracy, and to examine key constitutional institutions of democracy. This course will also introduce students to theories of democracy, democratic transitions and democratic consolidation, and electoral representation and political accountability.

  • This course is an elective for all Political Science and International Affairs majors and minors.
  • The course may count towards the American or comparative politics/international relations track in Political Science.
