NURS 4445 Medical-Surgical and Complex Care Nursing II

This course focuses on health promotion, risk reduction, illness prevention, and disease management in the care of adults with chronic, acute, and complex health problems. This course builds on concepts learned in Medical-Surgical and Complex Care Nursing I, with a focus on complexity. This course includes a clinical practicum. Topics include the role of the nurse as member of the inter-professional team, facilitating recovery from specific diseases and injuries, promoting optimal health for patients living with sequelae of disease or injury, and coordinating care for acutely ill and recovering patients.
