THR 14300 Makeup for the Stage

An introduction into the craft of stage makeup. Topics such as prosthetic design, wounds, old age, Chinese Opera, Japanese Kabuki, Restoration Era and gender make-up will be discussed. Students will learn basic techniques and research practices in creating specific makeup designs for use in live performances, including plot outlines and character studies.
