CFS 16200 Shakespeare on Screen

Examine the transition of the playing of Shakespeare’s work from the stage to the screen. A brief historical background on Shakespeare and an exploration of the longevity of his work as well as the impetus by directors to adapt them for the screen will be used. Examination and critical analysis of many screen adaptations from Olivier, Welles, Branagh, and others will also be utilized.
