Program Description:
Visual and Performing artists can inspire teach, entertain, or move us. Using words, images or the unspoken language of dance and music, performing artist can create a bridge of imagination that brings people together. Studying Visual and Performing Arts helps develop communication skills. Students choose a concentration in either Theater, Music, Dance, Musical Theater, Film Studies, Film Making. Theatrical Stage Combat, or General Studies and can explore a range of styles and genres within these fields.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Recognize the fundamental concepts and applications within the visual and performance industries
- Illustrate a variety of historical and culturally diverse communicative and performative skills
- Develop essential researching and planning skills for use within the visual and performance industries
- Demonstrate use if technology and other critical resources commonly utilized across a variety of performance industries and mediums
- Apply the practical skills necessary for performance
