HIS 118 History of Western Civilization II Honors

What forces helped create the French Revolution? Hitler's rise to power? The Cold War? Why are people today willing to fight for their nations - are there other options for resolving conflict? What were the Enlightenment, the Scientific Revolution, and the Industrial Revolution? By exploring governments ranging from absolute monarchy to democracy and dictatorship, this course helps explain the interrelationships of today's complex world. Students will be expected to engage in original research and will complete an Honors essay as the culminating project for this course
